My Space?

This thought came in my mind this morning. When I was young, I lived in a big home till my Fifth grade. Then my family moved to a place and we lived in an apartment which is apparently smaller compared to our home. I lived there till 2007 and I went abroad to continue studies. When I arrived this country, I started living in a room which is quite big enough for me. Anyway, it is smaller than the apartment that I lived with my family in my country. In the mid of 2008, I moved to another room which is good for me in some way but it gets smaller. Now, I am still in that room while writing this blog post. However, I have to move again for some unreasonable facts. Though not happy with that reality, I have to look for a room. I went to a building nearby and checked some rooms. What I found out is pretty disgusting. Those rooms are smaller than the current one. Since that time, the thought of moving to that room haunts me. My room is getting smaller and smaller as I moved on.

I know it is kind of crazy. But it is the bloody truth and quite bitter.

The Happening

Elliot Moore is a science teacher. One day, he questions his students why bees disappeared all of a sudden in some areas. At the same time, strange things start to happen in crowded areas like parks, streets, etc. It makes Elliot, his wife Alma, his friend and his firend's daughter to leave the city. Then that horrible thing keep spreading out almost everywhere they are going. Could they survive through this?

This movie is quite disappointing. Elliot is always frowning and so is Alma. Like they don't really know how to act in such situation. And the incidence that panicked everyone is like a myth till the end. Anyway, it is just a movie when you want to kill some time.

Quotes I love

Elliot: Come on, buddy. Take an interest in science. What could be a reason the bees have vanished?
Jake: An act of nature and we'll never fully understand it.
Elliot: Nice answer, Jake.

Elliot(to a plant inside the home): Hello?
Elliot: My name is Elliot Moore. I'm just going to talk in a very positive manner. Giving off good vibes.
Elliot: We're just here to use the bathroom and then we're just gonna leave.
Elliot: I hope that's okay.
Elliot: Plastic.
Elliot: I'm talking to a plastic plant.
Elliot: I'm still doing it.

Alma: Mrs. Jones, something's happened along the East Coast.
Mrs. Jones: Whatever it is that you think is so important that you need to tell me, don't.
Mrs. Jones: Just keep it to yourself.

Mrs. Jones: The world don't care about me. I don't care about it.

Prison Break

Last year, somewhere around August, I started watching Prison Break Season 1, which is recommended by a friend. Actually, he also rent me the DVDs (Season 1 to 3). Another guy just said those series are so violent that he cannot enjoy them at all. Anyway, it is me and took the DVDs. Wow! It is very interesting from the beginning. I watched one episode after another. Sometimes, I went to school or work. Though, I thought about them all the time on the way, in the class, at the job, etc.

Then, I completed all 3 seasons. At that time, season 4 started. And I continued watching it. Though I realized they are making it way too long, I couldnt help watching. And they had a short break in mid December, later continued on April 17. Hey, that's my birthday. :P And they continued till the end. However, in my opinion, the last episode really sucks. If they just want to end in tragedy, just end it by plotting an accident rather than this one. Anyway, it was the series that had much of our attention.

Bedtime stories

Skeeter (Adam Sandler) is son of an old motel owner. His father sold the motel to a rich man with the promise that Skeeter will become a manager when he is grown up. Though, Skeeter becomes the handyman of the hotel and never given a chance to prove that he is good enough to be a manager. One day, his sister asks him to look after her 2 children while she is leaving the town for a while. While looking after the kids, he has to tell them a story each night. So, he makes up stories and kids add-in their ideas into the stories. Those stories turn out to be true in every next day. When he realizes the situation, he tries to adapt the stories to make his dreams come true.

Quotes I love

Jill(on her first meet with Skeeter): I'm Jill.
Skeeter: Who's that?
Jill: I'm her friend, the one helping take care of the kids. I'm taking the day shift.
Skeeter: OK, June. You plan on being theis hostile the whole time?
Jill: Jill. My name is Jill.

Skeeter(preparing to read a story to kids): Rainbow Alligator Saves the Wetlands?
Skeeter: Mmm, no.
Skeeter: The ORganic Squirrel Gets a Bike Helmet?
Skeeter: I'm not reading these communist books to you guys.

Patrick: It started raining gumballs.
Skeeter: Raining gumballs?
Patrick: Why not? It's a bedtime story. Anything can happen.

Skeeter(to children): I'm like the stink on your feet. I'll always be around.

Movie Review: Valkyrie

Colonel Claus Von Stauffenberg (Tom Cruise) got wounded on the Front, lost his left eye and right hand, to be exact. Then he is sent back to Berlin. And he meets a group of officers who belive assassinating Adolf Hitler saves Germany. Then he arranges Operation: Valkyrie, which will honor hsi group to control Berlin and the reserves army after the assassination of Hitler. Though it is planned thoroughly, they are not fortunate enough. Hitler just gets wounded and he gives an order to capture them. After being arrested, General Fromm, being one of the conspirators, orders immediate arrest of the other people and charges them at once to save himself. Though, he could not save himself. He was executed as well.

I already knew the plot. However, it is still exciting to watch such a movie. There are many quotes that I'd love to share.

Stauffenberg(to Haeften, looking at Hitler's portrait): The portrait will be unhung, and that man will be hung.

Olbricht: Killing us won't hide your involvement.
Fromm: My involvement? I don't know what you're talking about.

Fromm: Spare me, Lieutenant.
Stauffenberg: No-one will be spared.

Stauffenberg(to Olbricht, just before executed by firing squad): Look them in the eye. They'll remember you.

Stauffenberg(screams): Long live sacred Germany.
